The beauty of good writing is unmatched in its impact. Stories, specifically, have an effect that nothing else does. They can bring tears, initiate thought, bring back memories, endow motivation and inspiration, and change lives. Stories can bring to light the details in life that we skip over, the things we miss, the things that matter most.
Born and raised in Colorado, I have always had great respect for a good story. I have come to realize that most good things have a story behind them, in front of them, or developing right now. For all of history, story has been used to both teach and entertain, often in conjunction, and I want to do the same at least to some extent. I want story telling to play some role in my life.
I want to write stories that make an impact and remind us of the value of the little things. I want to inspire a breath of fresh air in a world that is constantly moving and stories that prompt questioning – real questioning, not the kind where the answer is predetermined. I want to write stories that speak the truth and reveal the facts of life.
